Grooming

Pet grooming has become more widespread, with more of the nation caring for their pets. Grooming salons get very busy which means your pet could be crated for long hours , at Smart Pets your companion is treated as an individual and cared for as one of my own.

Here at Smart Pets we want the personal touch. I have designed my grooming room to offer a calm and relaxing environment. It is in my home, so it has smells of a home and not of a strange place.

Little things like these help your animal to be less stressed. I try and get to know the animal. Grooming needs to be done with trust.

I only work on one pet at a time, I have a pet blow dryer and not a drying cabinet. I work with your pet never doing anything forcefully.

The Groom Room

I designed my room to cater for most dogs. I have a table that is height adjustable so any elderly pets or pets with a problem only need to step on and off with a touch of a foot petal are raised to working height.

There is proper plumbing, always a nice warm bath.

Manual dog drier. No cabinets here!

The groom room is currently undergoing a make over , will post photos as soon as its finished, we are still open for business.

Services

As I offer grooming to cats and dogs it is best to contact me for a price as every animal is different.

My basic grooming package consists of:

Dental check, bath and dry, brush or clip, nails trimmed, ears and anal glands checked.

Prices start from £30+ but please do ring for a quote so we can discuss the needs of your pet.

Case Study: Hamish

Hamish was a rescued Scottie, he had been kicked and abused. He loves his new owners but his local groomers found him a challenge. With him being stressed he had been caught a few times by the trimmers and he was then traumatised by the events. In the end the owners decided to look for another groomer. Now their daughter reccomended me and asked me to try and cut Hamish as i am a RVN I am used to tricky customers. The first visit i was able to clip him, but he wouldn’t let me touch his feet. After a few more visits I am now able to clip his feet. Hamish and I now have a bond and understand each other. He is very relaxed when he comes to see me.
